I'm so AMazed at all the pregnacys (by teenagers & even young adults). It's distrubing to know these many people are running around having unprotected SEX. Knowing that it is a real issue and its not something; so far away in a different country. It scares me....I appreciate the commerical (which r few & far between/even in AIDS month).
I don't know anyone personally w/AIDS but I have read articles in my area where it stated from ages of 12 and up its really prevelant. They couldn't print their names because of privacy but, some had said they still have sex w/other people & don't disclose the fact of their disease. Because, people will turn away & wouldn't want intimacy w/them (can u blame them?) But, atleast give a person a choice of the direction their life may take?even if u use protection. I've been w/my partner for a while & we've took all kinds of test (free clinic) that's right. Either find out now or find out later. I rather learn from the door, what I have a chance of catch'n

People are becoming careless because of the treatment options available. Either a person doesn't disclose their status up front, or the other person just doesn't care.
When you have sex, even with a condom, you are at risk to catch an STD of ANY kind, not just HIV/AIDS.
Like I said, though, people are careless, now, because of the various treatment options. On an advertisement for Truvada, they show a healthy male jumping into the air, supposedly feeling great, right?
Well, those meds come with side effects. Fat distribution can can be uneven, leading to the HIV buffalo hump, nausea and anemia can occur, amongst countless other things.
And, by the way, HIV drugs are only effective on certain geno-types. The media doesn't tell you that, though.
If you want to be safe, be serious about the man you're about to sleep with. Once you and he know that you will sleep together, make it a bonding experience to go and get tested together. Once that is done, commit to staying monogamous to one another and no one else.

There are 2 different elements on your question: a million) Why shouldn't a woman be afraid to seize AIDS by using a bi guy who has had unprotected sex with different men? No reason. She must be very afraid. She must be petrified of catching AIDS from all and sundry (bisexual guy, immediately guy, bisexual female, lesbian) who has had unprotected sex with all and sundry (guy or female). 2) when you consider that having sex with bi or gay men places you in a higher chance caegory in accordance to each and each of the clinical establishments global, why shouldn't they be untrusting of them? i don't like the observe 'untrusting'. Bisexual men do not deserve mistrust- they deserve the exact same remedy as any capacity sexual substantial different, it truly is an expectation of finished disclosure of sexual historic previous, diseases, and threat of transmission. that is all. do no longer make it out that bisexual men are the distributors of AIDS from the gay to immediately community, only use secure practices, be discriminating which includes your companions, and take care.

People are ignorant & to top it off many schools are changing the way the teach stds. I am 25 & was tought basically you dont want one they will destroy your life, my sister 13 has done reports on the stds that are curable & finds the entire thing much less scary than I did at that age , I really think many teachers are doing them a diservice.

Ignorance is bliss, and fuels the spread of this deadly disease. People I have known with this disease change overnight once diagnosed. For the younger cases you mention, remember that molestation by twisted caregivers sometimes results in more than emotional scars like HIV.

Some people are ignorant, and don't know what HIV is, or don't think that the prevelance is as high as it is.
Personally I'd like to meet a girl with HIV...I don't think there's many in my town who would admit they're positive. I'd me nice to really know what things they go through.

I doubt that anyone of us does not know someone with HIV I think that there are a lot of people walking around with it and just don't know that they have it cause they don't bother to get tested.
