Yeah a blood test will show but just because she has a fowl odor in between her legs doesn't mean she has an STD. All females have some type of odor down there and it can range from little to none to very strong in just a few days. Since you are so sure about having a STD it is best she gets checked out again(if she isn't already). The smell can be cause by a yeast infection, which you can not get.

I have some knowledge on this topic because I have been a nursing student for the past 4 years, and we cover STDs. If you have an STD and have only had sex with one girl in the past year, then yes, you did most likley get this STD from the girl you are speaking of. The odor could be many things, but can also be a clear sign of an STD. Anyone can have an STD and not know it. Also, many people lie about having or not having an STD. If I were you I would question being with this girl because from the information you provided it seems like she is not 100% truthful. I hope this helps, and I give you credit for using a condom in the first place...just use them more correctly! :) Make sure you ask you healthcare provider about questions concerning STDs. Good luck!

If she has a foul odor she may have Bacteria Vaginosis. She needs to get check. Are you sure she went to the doctor? Men can carry the bacteria that causes BV and show no signs or she could simply be a little promiscuous herself. BV would not show up from an STD test, but she needs an GYN check up. A blood test will show if she has STD'S, but it sounds like a woman issue especially if that foul fishy odor gets worse after sex. We get BV when there is an imbalance in bacteria that stays in the vagina. Check out this website:

Correction to the person above me....a blood test will not tell if you have an STD...it will tell if you have AIDS but not an STD...but it is possible that she contracted something within the past 5 months...so just hold off on the sex until the results...but the odor can be anything from poor hygiene to a yeast infection to an STD..you never know...

Smell really isn't a sign of an STD, more than likely it's a vaginal infection. It can be passed back and forth if she doesn't get treated. For you, it would be jock itch. Did her provider that did the vag swab check for an infection? Blood work usually tests for more STDs than the swab (it checks for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia). Have her go back to her doc and have them check for a vaginal infection. She shouldn't have an odor all the time. If you have itching, try treating yourself for jock itch, if that doesn't work then you'll need to be seen as well. I hope this helps.

She may have thrush. It's a yeast infection inside the vagina, which causes itchiness, and a funny discharge, which sometimes smells right bad.
The virus starts in the mouth more often than not, and is caused by the candida virus. It can then develop down in the vagina, and although it is rare, men can get it, which makes sufferers' penis heads red, sore and very itchy.
It's easy to sort out: a simple course of medication usually clears it up. If she can explain her symptoms to the doctor, chances are the diagnosis could be made within minutes, and the treatment can begin.
If it isn't this, well... I hope it isn't nasty. =)

Its possible she/you have contracted something in the last five months. If the swab test was recent than they are pretty accurate. The "foul" oder could be normal for her and/or it could indicate a infection or STD. Yes it is possible for her to have something and not know it. Women can be asymptomatic and still be infected.

what makes you think you have an std? you haven't received your results right? it is possible that it's simple bacteria that is accumilating in her vag. a blood test is going to be the most accurate test to see exactly what's going on but it is possible it might be an std. metellicy smelling, almost like lead-its an std.fishy? might need another few rinses in the shower
