Somebody told me that the product might be Vick's vapor rub, is it true as I find that Vicks can irritate the nostrils. If not is there a better product to guard against odors for a sensitive nose? Thanks!

Vicks Vaporub works, as do Noxzema and Carmex. What I have found works to protect against odors is to wear a mask and smear any of those products inside it - if the smell is REALLY bad, then I'll double-mask and apply the stuff on the inside of the inner mask. That way, I'm not putting anything directly on my face, but I still get the protection from the smell.

If I am not mistaken ,I believe it was a by product that they use in autoposy to eleminate odors...It is used sometime instead of a mask.I do not think it was vicks vapor rub, because that would open the nostrils to let more of the odor in,however it was a show.., but in real life they have a clear product that is used in the autoposy that allows you to breath but eleminates odors.....

OK Od I won best answer for the last question and I don't think It was what you wanted so I called my brother who is an MD on his ski vacation in Utah. He said if they are wearing a mask they use "oil of winter green" but be careful because it is toxic.. that is why they only put it in their mask. He is an ER doc and has the same problem w/ smell as you do .. He uses a special ointment that doctors prepare. It is cold cream or any other moisturizer mixed w/ the peppermint extract that you find in the super market. He also suggest putting at the base(inside) the nostril as to not bring alot of attention to yourself. I hope this helps.

Actually I thought what they used was Noxzema skin cream...but it also has menthol in it which might also irritate your nose.
