I seriously don't think your friend would mind in the least. Just don't go to extremes(such as ordering diet soda and a salad without dressing while she is chowing down on pizza and wings), or critique her food choices. Otherwise, you may come across as a food gestapo or an eating disorder-type. I've known people like that who would make comments along those lines- anywhere from "They have chicken and fish" whenever I would order a steak, to "Do you really need dessert?". As long as you both respect each other here, I wouldn't worry.

If you explained to your friend the details you've just shared in your question of how you're thinking on the subject, that could be rude or embarassing. But simply ordering a smaller portion without an explanation, or saying something like, "I'm really not that hungry right now, so I don't think I'm going to have anything," shouldn't be a problem.
PS - Because you don't give enough detail on how often this happens or the type of "fattening" foods in your question, your friends may have similar concerns that you're not eating enough. Be sure you're watching your health - not just your weight!

No, go ahead and eat healthy. It shouldn't make anyone feel bad because some people just eat different portion sizes. If your friends make fun of you for wanting to eat healthy then you should probably find some new friends.
By "eat healthy" I mean just that. Don't worry too much about being "fat" per se, but I think it's a good goal to try to have good health. In other words, choose based on health, not appearance.

It is admirable that you would be concerned about the welfare of your friends. You are to be commended for watching what you eat. Don't think that all things that are "fatty" make one fat. That is a misconception. Also, keep in mind that people have their own 'will' and will eat what they want. The best way for you to remain friends and still try to encourage healthy eating is to make friendly suggestions, occasionlly clip articles of health and give them to your friends, or send cards that might suggest better eating habits- but concentrate on you - first. Sometimes, EXAMPLEs are the best way for people to 'see' progress. Remember the old adage - you can lead a horse to the water, but you can't make him drink it? Save yourself grief - your friends will either get the message -sooner or later. Remember also - they have parents and they watch t.v. and are aware of the dangers of improper dieting/exercise. You just continue to be the shining example - and say little.

At 13 you should not worried about getting fat. You should eat healthy and maintain a regular exercise program, like jogging or aerobics. If you wanted to have a bowl of ice cream once a week or so that should not be a major concern.

I would get the size of my choice. Being weight conscious a young age is very good. Esp. if your relatives have weight issues.
Remember "Take care of Self First". No one can share the pain of Ab crunches.

She won't be embarassed as long as you don't make it sound like you don;t want to eat because its fattening, for example, say "Oh well I had a snack before I went out, so I'll just get a smaller one" or say you arent really hungry, then she won't be embarassed and you wont be pressured to eat it.
btw, im all for healthy eating, but be careful you dont diet too much :-)

They have a right to eat as much as they want just like how little you want. You need to worry about more things that are important.

I doubt they'd be embarrassed or find it rude. It seems you're more concerned than they would ever be. If they're not worried about gaining weight, I doubt they care about what you're eating.

It's a whole lot better than wasting food.
Be yourself and eat what you want to eat. I seriously doubt that you will ever offend anyone.
