If it's below range, it could be you are hyperthyroid (overactive thyroid gland) The doctor may want to run a free t4 and free t3 to get a more accurate picture. Link from about.com below

It means your thyroid is hyper active, you're hyperthyroid, you probably need some thyroid lowering drugs and a thyroid scan
