a easy meal that is so good and stick to the ribs. boil some bone less skinless chicken thighs in waters with little salt and pepper when they are cooked thru pull out of water and chop up into small pieces. put back into water with sliced carrots, celery, onions, and chopped garlic. add 2 large cans of chicken broth or 2 cartons whatever you find. bring to a boil till veggies are tender then add egg noodles or homestyle egg noodles. salt and pepper to taste. When noodles are soft serve up in bowls with a nice crusty italian or french bread. Declious and simple. over all take bout an hour to make this but its real easy and laid back you can find a recipe on the net to follow. Also you can mix it up by finding a recipe for dumplings and have dumplings instead of noodles in the soup. either is very good! best ofluck

What a nice idea! ^_^
Here's a nice recipe for baked chicken parmesan. I have made this many times, and it's great and easy. This recipe serves 4, but you can halve it if you're only making two pieces for your parents.
nonstick cooking spray (Pam)
1/2 cup plain dried bread crumbs (I use Progresso)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (the powdered kind)
2 Tablespoons yellow cornmeal
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt (you can use less, but no more than this)
4 chicken breasts
1. Preheat oven to 425F. Spray jelly-roll pan with cooking spray. (A jelly-roll pan is like a cookie sheet, but with sides.)
2. In a plate or bowl, mix bread crumbs, Parmesan, cornmeal, and cayenne. In a separate plate, beat egg and salt.
3. Rinse each piece of chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Set on separate plate. (Make sure to wrap up the chicken packaging and discard it so you don't spread germs from the raw chicken. Clean up any spills that might have occurred.)
4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, then coat with bread crumb mixture. Place chicken on prepared pan. Spray chicken lightly with cooking spray. (Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly to remove all the germs from the raw chicken and the raw egg.)
5. Bake chicken until coating is crisp and inside is no longer pink, about 35 minutes. (I usually cut into the thickest part of the breast to make sure it's done. If it looks white, it's ready to eat.)
If you like, you can pour a little tomato sauce on each piece of chicken and sprinkle some mozzarella cheese on top. If it doesn't melt right away, you can zap it in the microwave, but not longer than 20-30 seconds.
I make this with a side of pasta, usually linguine, and a salad.

Get some pre-cooked chicken strips. Make Macaroni and cheese. Cut the chicken strips into 1-inch cubes. Mix the chicken with the Mac & cheese. I am assuming that you do want to cook, a little. Otherwise, of course, you can just buy something from a restaurant.

chicken parmesan. get chicken breasts that are kind of thin or pound them thin. dip in flour and then in egg. then bread them with bread crumbs and parm cheese. (you can use herbs too if your mom has anything like oregano, thyme, etc. bake the chicken in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. cut open a chicken breast to make sure the chicken is completely cooked (not pink inside) then top it with warm spaghetti sauce and some mozzarella cheese. serve with a side of spaghetti or some broccoli cooked in butter. deeeelicious :)

It would be so easy to just buy a box of noodles, a jar of sauce, and a frozen loaf of garlic bread and cook those up. It won't be too messy and it will take 30 minutes tops. Good Luck and I think that's super nice of you to make your parents dinner!!

A good meatloaf is usually well liked by most people and is easy to make. I don't know if it is still the case, but there is/was a good recipe on the box of Lipton's dry Beefy Onion soup mix. And I'm sure your older friends will also have a recipe to share with you.

Sweetie,
I won't matter what you actually cooked.
The fact that you set the table and prepared a meal for them is all that matters.
Your parents will be touched that you did this for them.
As far as your menu: Think of what your mom makes for your dad on special occasions, or what your parents usually "get hungry for"....Maybe simply make a nice juicy hamburger with fresh vegetable salad?
The simpler it is the better.
Good luck!
