why do people who are hungry eat more then when there not hungry?

*Smile* well, this is a scientific/philosophical question I think. You are hungry when your body does not have food in its stomach, hunger is the automatic sense trigerred from that, what is it for? Well this mechanism signals that you dont have enough energy, so you need to take in more than if you were satiated, which would mean you currently had enough food energy, food is necessary to carry out life. Philosophical view: Why do we need to drink, breath, sleep and eat? hmm.
