I went to my doctor this past month, and I got all the regular testing. They called me a few days later and told me that I tested positive for herpes--though I tested negative for type I and type II. The thing is, I have only ever been with one guy sexually (in any form) and I've been with him since May. He said he was tested and all was clear. I have not had an outbreak or anything. I talked to my friend yesterday (who is a pre-med major) and she said that if I had the HPV virus, it would show up in my testing as herpes but not as type I or type II. She said she saw a documentary on it and they said since this virus is so new, most doctors can't tell the difference. But when I try to research it, all the websites say they are two different things. Is this true? What websites can I trust to be true?

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. herpes has nothing to do with HPV. I've had HPV for 2 years, the only thing associated with HPV is genital warts. Which not everyone that has HPV gets warts there's so many kinds.
