They chose 99.9% as a selling point, because it's so close to 100% which is totally safe. But, companies say 99.9% effective to cover their butts in case anything happens, because, nothing is 100% effective.

It's all marketing strategy.

Cause if they state it's 100% effective and it didn't work as they stated, you could go after them (sue). So saying 99.9% is just a way of protecting them selves.

Because nothing is ever guaranteed. Even when they show 100% of the time effectiveness, theres always that one person that can come along and f^&* everything up and sue their socks off!

Because you can still get something. If they say 100% effective and you get an STD, then you would sue them, right? Nothing except not having sex is 100% effective. Nothing.

They make things to be 100% effective, but if they advertised that way and a mistake happens, they'd get sued for false advertisement. That's why.

there is ALWAYS a chance that something can go wrong.

To cover them when something goes wrong. They need that .01 percent in there in case someone sues
