The redness sounds like thrush, I wouldnt worry to much about your discharge, certain underwear changes your discharge and sometimes you can have clear or white discharge depending weather your "coming on" your period or just some bacteria needing to come, if it has a REALLY strong smell to it then go get checked out or turns yellowish or green. Also as it sound like you have thrush then your discharge would change a little like i said before letting all the bacteria out. Dont worry to much.. If it gets worse consult your doctor.

Yep, sounds like thrush (candida albicans) to me too.

AS mentioned previously not necessarily an STD but can be passed on by sexual contact.

Go to your local pharmacy and try, clotrimazole (canesten) pessaries and cream. Or ask for Diflucan capsules- usually a one of dose gets rid of the symptoms quickly and without the mess of using a pessary and cream. You could also use cream for symptom relief too though.

If you do have a sexual partner it is important that they are treated too or else you'l just keep passing it on between you time after time.

This sounds like thrush. It is very easy to get treated and you don't have to go to your G.P. You can buy Canestan Combi from the chemist which is a pessary and cream. I sometimes get thrush when I've been taking antibiotics.

It does not sound like thrush to me. It sounds like a common yeast infection. Try an over the counter treatment, if that doesn't work, visit your obgyn.

no its sounds to me like you have a bad case of thrush, an STD you would have green discharge, although sometimes with a extremley bad case of thrush the discharge can be green too.

Please visit your nearest Genito-Urinary Medicine (GUM) clinic and treatment taken. The service is free and your identity will be kept as confidential. Please also ask your partner to treat STD even if there is no symptoms. Microscopic examination of the discharge will reveal the type of disease. Please avoid self treatment.
Please see the web pages for more details on Bacterial vaginosis, Candidiasis and Trichomoniasis.
