i have a microwave oven -eloctrolux and 1.7 litres . can someone tell me whether it is much more expensive to use a microwave oven when compared to a gas stove? then i would be more judicious in my use of this.-- using it only for baking etc and not for regular purposes.i thank you in advance for answering my question .

What is its wattage? For example, a 1000 W (1 kW) microwave oven used for two hours per day (which I bet is way longer than you would use it) consumes 2 kWh per day, which isn't much at all. A stovetop on the high setting uses double as much for the same time period. An electric oven uses even more. Of the three, the microwave usually takes the least time. Energy consumption is a factor of both the appliance and TIME. The wattage is a unit of power which has time factored in.

In any case a lot less than an electric or gas oven because
the microwave oven heats only the food and not te walls and all the other parts of the oven. This is the reason for which it
operates so fast.
