there is screening for cf. You and your partner can contact the cf foundation in your state they will advise you as where to go, and they do a saliva check on you and her to see if you both carry the gene for cf, and you both have to carry it for your child to have it, new borns are not tested usually until after their first six months, if you both have the gene I am sure the pregnancy will be closely monitored and testing done

A sample of amniotic fluid is taken in the first months of pregnancy and the test for the gene is well established and accurate.

it isn't mandated. yet, both my OBs (I used different practices for my 2 pregnancies) examined my blood to be sure if i grow to be a service (it would not attempt the toddler). in case you've been a service the attempt will be provided on your husband/substantial different. both moms and dads favor to be distributors for the toddler to have CF. in the experience that your husband/substantial different grow to be also a service you would maximum in all probability be provided a diagnostic attempt (like amnio) ... the chance the toddler would have CF even as both moms and dads are distributors is a million in 4. relatives historic previous would not remember ... you and persons on your relatives could nevertheless be distributors. about a million in 25 Caucasian anybody is distributors.
