You can buy it at your local markets. Most sell seeds. Follow the directions on the package for planting.
When it is ready to harvest wash it really good. Let it dry. I dry mine on a cookie sheet in oven. Heat the oven on warm and then turn it off. Then put in the oven to dry. If you feel it's too hot leave the oven opened just a crack.
You don't want to cook it, you just want do dry it out. It doesn't take long.
When you take it out of the oven set it out on the cupboard covered with paper towel and let it continue to dry until you can crumble it.
Put in some jars. I has to be very dry so it won't start to mildew.
You can do this with parsley. Regular parsley or Italian Parsley.
Start now saving jars. When you are ready to use a jar poke holes big enough in the lid to sprinkle.

Nurseries, Home Depot and Lowe's have cheap pots of herbs to grow at home. In my experience when you plant it in the ground, it comes back for years.Dried oregano is very inexpensive and I keep it on hand for tomato sauce. Crumbling dried in your hand brings out more of the flavor.

Buy an oregano plant at a plant nursery and grow it yourself. It's an herb and makes a very nice addition to an herb garden. For seasonings, just harvest it and dry it yourself.

One if you really want oregano and are not trying to pass it off as Marijuana, which you'll only foul someone whose too stoned to know what it is they are getting. And you can still be arrested for selling it, because you are trying to pass it off as a drug.
If you actually want it for cooking, then realize Wal-mart and other stores sell it for less then 1 dollar. Look on the seasoning isle.

well you can grow it!
Go to your local garden store or large hardware store like Home Depot and get a herb growing starter kit. There will be everything you need to get started quite easily. Plus you will have more seeds for other types of herbs too.

You'd better buy it and enjoy it like that, even though it's a bit expensive. Let's imagine what would happen if you waste your time to plant and water those seeds and it all died before you can eat them. Sad, huh? The one in supermaket also lasts longer. It's worth paying. Either way, good luck!

Go to a nearby nursery and buy a 2-4" pot. It will grow outside through the summer and, depending on your climate zone, year 'round
