Does god have the power to re-grow a limb for an amputee who prays for a miracle?
If Yes,
How do you know that, since there isn't one case in any medical journal or hospital anywere of an amputee EVER re-growing a limb?
Do you think that god helps you in your everyday life when YOU pray?
If yes:
Why does god help you with trivial things like job interviews and finding your car keys....but doesn't help any amputees re-grow limbs?
Don't you find it just a little strange?

1. God has the power to do this thing.
2. One never KNOWS that God can regrow a limb, but one BELIEVES this through faith. It is presumptious of Man to assume a being that is not even completely definable lacks some power just because that power has never been observed by Man.
3. I have been helped by God, even if I can't define him or even determine whether any version of religious thought has the best image of "God" in their teachings. My mind is so open my brains fall out, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.
4. God helps those who pray to him with an open heart; or, perhaps those who pray with an open heart simply gain insight more easily than those who pray with a cynical mind. The answer you seek may not be the answer you need. Can you say for sure your reasoning trumps that of the Almighty, who, even if you don't believe in him, still has a more panoramic view of the situation? Perhaps the amputee's purpose in life was always to become an amputee and thereby gain a unique perspective on his or her world. Can you know this is not so?
5. It is only strange if you think you know the way the universe should be ordered. I don't pretend to have this knowledge, so it isn't strange to me.
Mr. Cady: The invisible unicorns will never re-grow a limb of someone with an attitude like that! ;) Neither will God, for that matter. Does the argument really matter? Is this not just a more human-centered version of "how many angels will fit on the head of a pin" type questions? Without a scientific definition and pinning down of what God is or is not, an argument on his supposed powers is moot. The frames of reference are completely different; one cannot rule the realm of faith with the ruler of logic. They are two different universes. So it might as well be an invisible unicorn, rather than an Almighty God, if one looks at it through the eyes of strict scientific method. Define God and then come back and ask about his powers.

God does not have the power to re-grow a limb for an amputee.
God only helps those who help themselves. If I pray for a new Mercedes....it's not gonna just show up in my driveway one day. I would actually have to do something for myself to acquire the car.
It's not strange.....God created a universe with universal laws that cannot be altered....such as re-growing limbs or acquiring a Mercedes without getting off the couch. There is some common sense required in the context of consequences for actions.
I realize that "as yea think so shall yea be" is also relevant...but if you think about re-growing a limb or pray about it or meditate upon it....you cannot re-grow the limb, because the universal laws do not factor in limb re-growth as an option. Could you re-grow a head if it was amputated? I should think not!
If I actually believe I can acquire a Mercedes...then I can go out and work for one, or steal one, or play every lottery that gives a Mercedes away.....but I can't just sit and think it up.
I hope I didn't waste your time....but I tried to answer a very difficult question. :(

I would suppose that if God really did create the heavens and earth and all that is on and in them, then He would certainly have the power to do anything else He wanted. Why He doesn't answer prayers the way some feel He should is a question that I nor anyone else can answer. We give Him credit for the good that happens to us, but we all encounter situations that we sometimes wish could be done differently. I've been a christian since I was 12, and I believe in God and trust Him, but I tend to stay away from those who have all the answers including non-believers. As far as wasting your time, if you post a question such as yours on here, you don't get the choice of deciding who answers it, or how they answer it.

God has the power to do anything. He merely "thinks" it and it is done. Getting that part out of the way, God does NOT interfere with what goes on in our daily lives. God is far removed from the physical plane and has set up a system whereby we reap what we sow. Sow good things, reap good things, sow bad things, reap bad things. Why should he interfere with that? Someone who is without a limb actually chose that circumstance to incarnate into in order to learn a lesson and to settle karma. Why would he want to take away the very circumstance that will evolve his soul a step further?
I don't pray for "help" with anything so trivial as a job interview because I know the circumstances in my life were chosen by me before incarnating here and I believe my life has a purpose *just* the way it is. Why would I pray for "help"?
A bit of a different perspective, I know. But hey ... you asked!

Would everyone who didn’t believe in God suddenly believe? God came down to earth as a man and suffered death to save man from sin but do people believe? There is a God but people continue to reject him. Would they find life easier if they had a reason to believe that God loved them? Has God shown his love for them? And here’s the clincher. Are those who question God amputees themselves? I’m sure that there are many amputees that can’t get past the feeling of being singled out for suffering, but I think that they and the majority of amputees value life a whole lot more than most people who are not amputees.

I believe and know that God has the power to restore an amputated limb. There are so many testimonies around the world of how God helped restore people body parts.
In our local assembly I know of a man whom doctors said had a few days to live as his kidneys had filled up with water and were dissolving. He came to church and had his health restored and doctors confirmed he indeed had two new sets of kidneys in his body.
I know in the days of a man called William Branham God wrought so manhy works and miracles in the people. There was a man with no feet who had his feet restored. A blind man who even did not have eyeballs had his sight restored and not only that; He was even asked what color of eyes he wanted and that came to pass on the dot. There have been many others like Oral Roberts, A.A. Allen and many others today.
Strangely such miracles do not find their way in the newspapers but they focus more on the "bad side".
My God helps in all situations, whether you are blind, amputated, withered, bed-ridden with AIDS, He heals you. There are so many cases of people who had AIDS and they got deliverance from the disease and have tests made for 5 years which have been confirmed negative.
My god specialises in things thought impossible and he will do what no other power can do.

I know of a boy who was missing a thumb and he went to a healing service and he went up on stage. The preacher asked him if he needed anything, and the boy said that he would like to have a thumb. The preacher commanded the thumb to grow in Jesus' name. At first, nothing happened, but after about five minutes the whole audience stood up in praise and complete amazement when the boys thumb began to grow!!!!! It grew all the way out to normal length, but it had no fingernail! So they commanded a fingernail to grow, and guess what happened...a fingernail grew, but it had a strange blue glow around it. It just kept growing and growing until it finally curled under. Then the next day the boy came back to church and the fingernail was gone. I don't think he ever grew a fingernail after that, but I'm not sure. But the thumb remained!!! This is an absolutely true story, and I know a lot of other people who have been healed of all sorts of diseases, including me. God does grow out amutees, but so many Christians nowadays don't believe in God's healing, and if you don't believe then it won't happen.

Was it not God to whom created this world. Created the mans limbs in the first place. OF COURSE HE CAN! The problem is you nor your friend have enough faith. Dont expect God to help you if you question him.
And again Yes, God does help me when i prayer. People are so caught up in Themselves everything God has done for them they compliment themselves.
Get on your knees and thank God for all limbs you do have. for the ability to breath and type stupid Questions without being punished by some zealot in a foriegn country.

How about having 10 million people to pray for one person with a fractured finger to heal over night. God could probably take a stain out of my collar but regrowing a limb or causing a finger to heal simultaneously is a bit much.

God CAN heal an amputee but has a choice not to. God has a choice to help you find car keys, but may not choose to. God is soveriegn. He can and does do as HE wills...not what we will. He is not a divine vending machine that gives out blessings and healing JUST because we ask. I am not sure if there is "no record" of an amputee being healed but I have never heard of one. This for me does not detract from the fact that God CAN do it.
