"Veg*n" means vegan OR vegetarian. It is used when the difference doesn't matter. Ex. Veg*ns can't eat pork. Vegans are the "stricter" type of vegetarians, that do not eat eggs or dairy.

i'm a Vegetarian, and function been for some year. i could say that the two have the aptitude to be very very wholesome, yet what a lot of human beings don't understand is which you ought to have substitute aspects of protein and different issues as quickly as you end getting all your protein from meat. i think of that being a Vegetarian is the easier determination, and in case you're able to need to end ingesting meat, be beneficial to ease into it. you won't be able to easily end ingesting meat at some point and not in any respect consume it returned. Vegans do no longer consume something that is going with the aid of animals: no eggs, milk, cheese, yogurt, meat; and that they often do no longer consume many processed meals the two, in my adventure. the only issues which you won't be able to consume in case you become a Vegetarian are meat/fowl products. in case you prefer to be a Vegetarian or a Vegan, I rather propose you start up eating almond or soy milk plenty, as yet another resource of protein; and, to assist the cravings for fowl or a burger (you will get them,) Boca has a line of veggie/soy burgers.

Yeah, I've noticed this on various websites. As far as I can tell, veg*n is used when people want to refer to both vegetarian and vegan in one word without having to type both!

Perhaps veg*n is used by illiterates who can't spell 'vegetarian', and the * indicates the missed letters.
Otherwise, I have no idea
