on reflection just checked (the) discharge paper, is that what you meant by definite article and actural writing is Bloods CRP 78 on admission now 18, take is this is something to do with red blood corpuscles but would like to understand more. Thanks for answer tho and where is 'over here'. Oboviously I am feeling lots better as wondering about sturpid things, trouble is so tired, still, even tho back at home. Of to bed again for now, seems I have to sleep two hours to get 1/2 hours worth of energy before worn out again

Normal CRP values vary from lab to lab, but generally there is no CRP detectable in the blood (less than 0.6 mg/dL). You are heading back in the right direction;

Funnynanny,

I'm sorry that you were in the hospital (we use the definite article over here in the colonies. Bear with me). That's always a sign of something serious.

I'm going to have to guess at an answer here because what you say is a "cpr" can't quite be that. "Cpr" is "cardio-pulmonary resuscitation," and it's a manuver done when someone's heart stops and there's no defibrillator around to restart it, so someone pumps on the chest to keep some blood flowing until the heart restarts or is restarted. You were not in that condition. I mean, you didn't go to the hospital because your heart stopped, did you?

Let me guess that what you meant was your heart or pulse rate, your "bpm," or "beats per minute." At 78, that's not considered abnormal. It would be a high normal, but there are many events or circumstances that would send a pulse rate that high. Anxiety, pain, fever, strong coffee (here in the Seattle area we'd automatically say, "espresso"), lots of situations.

So on admission, your heart rate was normal. 60-100 is considered normal.

I'd'd be willing to bet that your pulse rate on discharge was also 78 and that the "18" was just a badly-written "78." A pulse of 18 would put you somewhere among the quite unconscious, and I doubt very seriously if you would be discharged were you in a coma. I wouldn't expect you to be asking questions here if you were in a coma. Of course, having a Congress and not a Parliament, perhaps we are so used to seeing the comatose that they appear normal to us.

At any rate, I think you can be assured that your heart rate would be normal or at least nearly so for you to be discharged from [the] hospital (sorry--bad habit).

I hope that you are doing well now.

Ok CRP means c reactive protein it is a non specific protein that shows a rise with all sorts of inflammatory conditions and infections. In our laboratory anything over 10 is raised but I have seen them in the 100's. when the condition resolves if it is self limiting it may take a month or so to return to normal. Your results look encouraging therefore,.......-hope you're better soon!
