Hi, i went for complete tests about 3years ago for STD's and HIV about 5-6months after exposure and everything was fine and clear. Also, I know this may sound a bit detailed but the man didn't ejaculate in me so I was just wondering, is it possible for the results to be wrong? Did I get tested at the right time? I know about the 3month window period which is quite reassuring but I just want to know ur opinon? I am thinking of going back for another test to be 100% sure but also ur help would be appreciated. Thanks and no funny comments, this is serious!!! x

no you are fine the widow period usually last for about three monthes. If you testes negative for hiv chances are that you are negative. If you are still worried then get another test after three monthes.

It wouldn't hurt to double check. You should probably get test every 6 months for the next two years just to be sure. For that matter, you should just get tested twice a year since you are sexually active.
The tests commonly used to detect HIV infection actually look for antibodies produced by your body to fight HIV. Most people will develop detectable antibodies within 3 months after infection, the average being 25 days. In rare cases, it can take up to 6 months.
The CDC National AIDS Hotline can provide more information and referrals to testing sites in your area. The Hotline numbers are 1-800-342-2437 (English), 1-800-344-7432 (Spanish), or 1-800-243-7889 (TTY).

You can still develop an infection after the tests. A person could have received negative test results yet still have an infection that could be transmitted to others. Also, while tests are mostly accurate they can be falsely negative and very occasionally, falsely positive.

He doesn't have to ejaculate in side of you for you to be infected. There is always the possibility of the test being a false negative. Take another one just to ease your mind.

I would get tested again just to be safe. I would wait till it's been a year since the exposure to get tested again. Best of luck!

Pre ejaculate...which he wouldn't be able to feel...nor would you, could contain the virus. So it is technically possible to have it. Go for another test, just to be sure.
I hope everything works out and that you are truly negative!

If you believe you were in contact with HIV from a partner you need to check yourself out every 4 months for the first year. Then yearly afterwards to be certin that you didn't get anything! You got to be sure for you and future family if you start one.

I would go back for another test, especially if it is bothering you. He does not have to ejaculate in you for you to get AIDS. I would go back for another and explain so the technition (spelled wrong) can help you :)
