If the brithday person has a good sense of humor and isn't one of those kids that is worried about impressing everyone try throwing a little kid type party with the party hats and those stupid games like pin the tail on the donkey. I did that for one of my kids when they were older and her friends actually loved it. After all the little kid stuff was done they pulled out the cd's and I snuck an old one that I had that had all of those stupid dances on it like the hokey pokey and the chicken dance on it. Although they made me join them, they all actually danced to these songs. We had a great time. and most of the kids during the night either said man I wish my parents would have given me a party like this when I was young or your parents are so cool. Coming from kids nowaway days that made me feel great. I will admit at first they were unsure but then as one got invovled the others followed and it was silly fun which they loved. Good Luck

At that age, it's all about the food and the music, not entertainment.

burn a bunch of cds they can dance too, and play em. pretty easy. but make sure its the "cool" music, no one really wants to dance to crappy music.
