If you want to reverse her diabetes it can be done with hard work and commitment with natural methods. I have had two relatives go blind, a neighbor recently had a leg amputated, a boyfriend died frm insulin shock (before I knew much about it..he had just mentioned it..I tried to talk to most of them but they didn't listen) from it and my mom in dialysis (which is horrible her health went really downhill including several surgeries due to nurse mess -ups of the application that left her entire body bruised, three heart attacks in 4 months (dialysis increased heart disease 30 times--she never had heart problems before , and blood pressure dropping to the 30's (bottom number--where she almost dies)..many problems from taking too much or too little fluids out-too much drops blood pressure dangerously too little she'swashed up, lifeless, suffering, and can barely move (or visaversa).
Although she is not on dialysis for diabetes, most of the people at the clinic she goes to are. So these are reasons for your mom to seriously apply the suggestions I offer born from 30 years of intense research and reading well over a thousand books on alternative health. It can be reversed.
The first suggestion is Dr. Richard Schulze's incurable program..the tapes are called "save your life" videos with sam biser (and schultze but listed under biser) sold on ebay and amazon..well worth the money originally they cost $400. usually can get on ebay for 50-150 dollars..some originally came with 700 page manual..this will greatly give you hope hearing the case histories and explain how to do everything in great detail..but if you cant afford I listed the patient handbook on the site I will put in sources or get his book "there are no incurable diseases"..also says what to do. Read all the answers I gave here in the link below and look at the links posted on that question which I spent 3 hours on ..do this and many of the other suggestions..trust me, doctors will say it's bull but I truly believe Schulze is not a quack..I know people with cancer cures, I had good success, and she can get better with commitment..although it is hard and expensive, it is so much better than the alternative..all the people I mentioned above I knew suffered terribly. It really disturbed me that God has led me to all this knowledge and few will try it or believe it..those who did were greatly helped according to Dr. Schulze and studies. I have never seen natural healing fail personally.
I constantly see things affirming the correctness of the programs as new data comes out..I am always amazed how right Dr. Schulze is..and many of the items mentioned have been found in tests to do what they say they will,.Maybe you and your mom will trust nature and God's healing..doctor's prognosises are usually right if you are the average american but if you change one of the variables and build exceptional health through these suggestions, you will not follow the doctor's expected path..I have a relative supposed to be dead 4 years ago still living with natural healing and diet and she isn;'t even doing all the stuff here. She is lucky she is not on insulin..it is much harder when you go on that..she is early even to reverse...if she begins now. So see link below. and good luck..it's great you are helping your mom..

Hi there, I'm not much younger than your mom. I was 42 at the time I was diagnoised (43 now) and have made a LOT of healthy changes in the past year.
As for exercising, if she is not used to it (I certainly wasn't) I say start small but whatever she does, she should do it every day. The ADA (American Diabetes Association) recommends at least 30 mins per day. I highly suggest walking. When I started I could barely walk a 1/4 mile in 40 mins and I now walk 4 miles in an hour and 5 miles in 1 hour, 10 mins on the weekends. If the weather is crappy she can go to the mall (is what I do) , just one tip there...leave your purse in the trunk of your car or you will spend too much, lol.
As for eating, I highly recommend going to a nutritionist that specializes in Diabetes. My insurance paid for a class (series of 6 classes) that was held at the local hospital that was a lot of help. Bottom line? Cut the carbs to lower the blood glucose. A good dietician will be able to tell her how many carbs per meal she should have (usually in the 30-60 range for meals and 15-20 range for snacks).
As for websites, start with http://www.diabetes.org This is the ADA site. Also webmd has some good info: http://www.webmd.com/diseases_and_conditions/diabetes.htm
There is so much to learn in the first few months, don't let her become overwhelmed! It has been 11 months since diagnosis for me and it's a challenge every day but I plan on sticking around so I'm doing everything I can to make that happen.
Best of luck to your mom. And btw, you're a good daughter, I'm sure your mom appreciates your help!

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

The posted answers are great. Although this isn't directly an answer to you question, it's valuable information. There are studies that indicate that taking a half of teaspoon of cinnamon each day will lower blood sugar dramatically. When I was diagnosed, my A1C level was 11.0. A1C is the average blood glucose level for the previous 90 days. This is the test used to finally diagnose diabetes. The doctors typically want A1C level to be less then 7 for diabetics and less then 6 for non-diabetics. For the first three months I took only my medications and altered my diet. My follow-up A1C was 6.3. I added cinnamon, and three months later my A1C was 4.7. Side benefits,my cholesterol dropped from 173 to 135 and shoulder pains that had plagued me for years, disappeared. It turns out that cinnamon is a natural anti-inflammatory and pain killer. Search the internet for "Diabetes and Cinnamon" for more detail. Best of luck.

Make an appointment with a Diabetic Doctor (Specialist). Go with your Mother and Bring the list of questions you are wondering about.Bring paper to record what the Doctor says. Make sure to bring your records that you have been keeping regarding your Blood Sugars testing times and pill ingestion times. List How much exercise you do and be honest with what you remember. I say this because if you write it down right after exercising you will have an more accurate record and memory won't fail you.The Doctor will discuss what you are to achieve and how, don't leave any thing out.
Good Luck&Good Health

Diabetes is usually treated through a combination of diet (low sugar), exercise and medications/insulin. Milder cases can be controlled with just diet an/or exercise while more severe cases require meds or insulin as well.
