First, know that there are two types of diabetes: type I and type II.
Type I symptoms typically include:
general malaise, weakness, drowsiness
headache
urinary frequency, high volume of urine
increased thirst, even insatiable thirst
slower healing of cuts or abrasions
frequent infections (such as urinary tract)
weight loss, even with good appetite
"pins & needles" or deadened sensation on the feet or legs
abdominal pain
vomiting
Type II Symptoms include:
blurred vision
extreme fatigue
extreme hunger
unusual thirst
unusual weight loss
frequent urination
more frequent infections of bladder, gums, skin or vagina
irritability
itchy skin
slow healing of cuts and bruises
tingling or numbness in legs, feet or hands
mental confusion
You doctor, if they haven't already, will likely schedule a fasting glucose blood test. If you do have diabetes, often times it can be managed with diet and exercise. GL

Sounds like diabetes, doesn't it? But there are many things out there that can give you the same symptoms or a combination of things. You have done the right thing by going to a doctor. He will be able to take the symptoms, a few tests and come up with an answer. Just stay calm and know that as long as you can ask questions and think, you are still with us and doing okay. I wish you much luck with your doctor's visit. I am a diabetic and it's no fun. The paleness doesn't sound like diabetes, more like anemia. You will be okay. God Bless.

It is not possible to answer this question. You must have your blood glucose measured. Your doctor will want to take a fasting blood glucose reading. If this is 126 or above for 2 tests then you are diabetic. You are concerned so get the test. I hope you are not diabetic but if you are you will want to take control. You should eat right, exercise, and generally take care of your health either way.

You sound too nervous. Tell the doctor exactly what your problem and get a professional advice from him. Do not worry yourself too much, otherwise you may get a breakdown. However, if the result from your tomorrow appt is ok, you may wish to buy a diabetes kit and do random testing to make sure that your blood sugar is in normal range. Eat wisely and exercise alot. Good luck to you and may you be healthy and strong. A happy lunar new year to you !

Have you had reoccurring yeast infections? That is a big clue for diabetes. If you haven't had them, you could still have it. You will need a fasting blood test to check your glucose levels. Be prepared and don't eat anything after midnight tonight.

When you get an injury, like a cut or a blemish, does it take a long time to heal? I've been told that is a symptom of diabetes.
