The risks associated with surgery is very high indeed .A surgical closure will no doubt increase the very high pulmonary pressure with lethal outcome.

It is worth thinking in terms of pulmonary arterioles vasodilatation with nitrates, NO releasers, and Sildenafil citrate . Perhaps the longer acting Cialis may be helpful.

Good Luck.

In PDA, there is an abnormal transmission of blood amid 2 of the biggest arteries in close proximity to the heart. earlier to start, both significant arteries—the pulmonary artery (which contains oxygen-undesirable blood) and the aorta—are frequently linked with information from a blood vessel customary because the ductus arteriosus, that's needed contained in the fetal circulate. In conventional babies, the PDA closes withing hours of start. A small patent ductus arteriosus would close spontaneously as a baby grows. a better PDA that causes indicators calls for medical administration and likely surgical restoration. The objective of PDA ligation is to fix the patent ductus arteriosus earlier the lungs develop into diseased from too a lot blood bypass and rigidity. A doctor closes the ductus arteriosus with information from tying or clipping it, without establishing the heart. An incision is made on the left fringe of the chest close to the armpit, by which the PDA is uncovered the position it attaches to the aorta. The tie or clip is positioned straight away around the PDA and the go by the PDA is stopped precise this second. Clipping or tying is often carried out by 4 small incisions on the left fringe of the chest, with particular contraptions designed to be utilized by such tiny incisions. I havent been by it yet considered babies totally get over it...

Yeah, you can close the PDA, but at this point, the damage is done, so I'm not sure how much benefit it would be. In addition, as stated in another answer, you may be a high risk patient, so make sure to talk to your cardiothoracic surgeon about risks and benefits before undergoing any surgery.
