how can u get them? if u kiss somebody will u get them? is it dangerous?

herpes is transmitted directly from someone to another person by direct contact. Yes, kissing is direct contact. It is a virus and it can be spread even when there are no signs of the virus on the carrier person. They have treatment now that is supposed to make it less easy to transmit..... so they said a few yrs. ago it was not transmitted unless the person had a breakout. It can be dangerous in that it is the same virus as chicken pox and can cause shingles which is very painful also. Besides the fact that it can be transmitted from the person through oral sex and kissing and then to someone else again where it becomes Genital herpes. So, all viruses and diseases are not good, they are manageable sometimes but, that is a fact that someone should tell someone else if they have it. My opinion. Look it up on Web Md or google.

You get herpies from skin to skin contact with an infected person. They are most contagious during an outbreak, but can also pass it on when there are no sores, and they are shedding the virus (there is no way to know when this is happening.) You can get herpies from kissing, which results in a cold sore on you mouth.

It is possible to get herpes even if you use a condom. This is because a condom only covers the shaft, while surrounding areas are still touching.

You can get herpes from oral sex and/or intercourse. It is not dangerous but once you have herpes, you will never get rid of it. There are 2 types of herpes. Herpes type 1 infects your mouth. They are called cold sores Herpes type 2 is known as Genetal Herpes.
