Can vegetarians eat fish and what can they eat as well as cannot?

A vegetarian will not eat any meat product, be it beef, pork, lamb, fish, poultry, etc. They do eat cheese, milk, yogurt, blahblah, many eat eggs, and of course they can eat grains, fruits, vegetables etc.
Some people are considered semi-vegetarian or pescatarian (I think that is how you spell it) and they *do* eat fish but no other meats.
Vegans do not eat any meats, dairy products, eggs, or other animal derived incredients (generally that means no honey, no white sugar as it may be processed through bone char, no foods with certain additives etc).
On top of that, most people who opt for vegetarian or vegan diets generally adopt a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle which includes eliminating products that are tested on animals or contain animal products, and not wearing wool, silk, leather, and so on.

Fish is an animal. Vegetarians eat a plant based diet..so No..we do not eat fish. We can eat anything as long as it does not come from a dead animal and this includes gelatin and animal rennet.

PS: An egg is not an embryo. An embryo is a forming animal and eggs are not fertilized so there is no animal forming.

I think there some ranks of vegetarianism
1) there are the ones that just don't eat the flesh of any living creature
2) there are the ones that don't eat land meat - fish is ok
3) there are the ones that pick 1 meat item that they will eat and still say they are vegan
4) there are the ones that are sometime vegetarians - they like a good juicy hamburger every now and then but they prefer eating vegetarian.

the way most people think,fish is flesh so out of bounds for vegetarians,but i'll tell you a few facts about vegetarians in India,where vegetarianism is strong & adhered to staunchly by many communities.Vegetarians in many of the costal regions of my country do not consider fish as a non vegetarian food & hence it is consumed freely,many do not object to eggs of battery raised hens as these are not fertile eggs & hence there is no question of an embryo being destroyed,free range is totally a different matter ,these are fertile eggs as both hens & roosters are reared together.

some say vegetarians can eat fish but to me fish is still flesh and flesh is still meat. so, i say a true vegetarian wouldn't eat fish. vegetarians don't eat any anima flesh. no meat what's so ever. there are diffrent types of vegetarians. some eat eggs. some eat dairy products. some eat both. those who eat eggs are called ovo vegetarians. those who eat dairy products are called lacto vegetarians and those who eat both are called lacto-ovo vegetarians. choose which one you want to be and i'll support you!!!!!

A true vegetarian would not eat fish.

A true vegetarian would not eat the flesh of any animal. Some vegetarians do eat eggs but they're embryos of animals -- not actual animals. (Ooooh, boy, are the pro-lifers gonna get me for that one.)

No. we eat veggies, fruit and nuts, pulses if it doesn't grow in the ground or on a plant we don't eat it, it isn't complicated it is all in the name "Vegetarian"
