Perhaps you could find a Kentucky Fried Chicken place and have'em put together complete dinners for 8. They've got side dishes of all kinds of veggies, too, and dessert. I'm sure everyone will love KFC and bless you for thinking of this; it's a real nice gesture. You might also offer to help in the kitchen after the meal's over--even if it's only to carry out the dishes or dry'em. It's not so much that they need someone to help as it is that you even bother to OFFER. Get it?

It's really nice of you to think of this for your hostess, she will appreciate it.

For 8 people:
(2) 1lb. boxes 3-color rotini pasta (fun for kids)
(2) large jars red pasta sauce, any kind (not spicy)
(1) container grated Parmesan cheese
(2) loaves good Italian bread
(1) pkg. salad croutons (in the supermarket produce section)
(1) chocolate cake mix, baked per pkg. directions in a sturdy lidded 9x13 pan, frosted with any flavor frosting

In a cooler:
Margarine or butter for the bread
Salad greens for 8, plus any other raw veggies to add
(1) jar good refrigerated salad dressing/dip like Marie's (in the produce section)

This is not a gourmet meal, but it is inexpensive, it will travel well, and everyone will enjoy it. Have a nice visit!

this is silly, but spagetti and meatball is the one meal that everyone loves, and it is easy to make. Nothing like a nice home made plate of that, a nice bottle of wine and a good conversation

lasagna's always a good traveler that feeds a bunch of people. You could always make it up, and then cook it over there.
