I like the keg idea also OR cases of beer cans (1/4 sheet cakes stacked up and decorated), but my 'serving tray' would be a dolly -- cut out of heavy cardboard / wood and cover with foil.

i have not in any respect heard of a groom's cake till coming to this board so i anticipate it is an American element? i do not comprehend somewhat what that's... What about, somewhat of a groom's cake, get the caterer to do a replica of the very top layer of your cake, yet wheat-loose.
