Inflamed lungs? How do you know? How long have you had these symptoms? How bad does it get at night? Do you have difficulty going to sleep? Does this wake you up at night?

With inflamed lungs you could have a condition that naproxen sodium would not help, because the airways of your lungs can inflame through a condition such as asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, bronchitis, pneumonia, or breathing an irritating gas or vapor like ozone or fumes. Naproxen won't touch conditions like that.

Do you cough a lot because of it? Do you have a fever? If not, you might just have bronchitis, and since many cases of bronchitis are caused by a virus, you might have to just wait until it goes away.

Have you been around any chemicals? Odd smells that made you cough?

You haven't taken up smoking, have you?

If this condition persists for more than a day longer, I would make an appointment with a doctor. It might be a simple case without anything to worry about, but it could be more serious. Not knowing anything else about your condition, it would be hard to tell you if this is nothing to worry about or if it the start of something a doctor or hospital should handle.

I don't think Naproxen will help, try seeing a doctor maybe you should be taking a steroid.
