Not likely. Yes, there's a risk that the eggs will have salmonella in them, but most people when making cakes (especially if making it from a boxed mix) leave the eggs in the fridge until the recipe calls for them, only mix the batter for as long as they absolutely need, then pour it straightway into a pan and pop it into the oven.
One of the neat things about refrigeration is that it slows down the growth of cells like bacteria, so if you're just licking the bowl right after you filled your cake pans, odds are that even if there *are* salmonella bacteria in the eggs, there aren't very many of them, and a normal healthy immune system will destroy them handily.
Now, if the bowl has been sitting on the counter for a while, or if you're making a recipe that explicitly states that the eggs need to be at room temperature (some cookie doughs demand this), then it's a little more risky.
If you ever find yourself in a situation where your immune system is not running as well as it ought to be, but you're craving raw cake batter, it is possible to find powdered egg at many supermarkets. You just add water and use it like you would fresh eggs. And the best part is, they're pasteurized - a process which destroys bacteria such as salmonella!

Well if the cake has egg, and the egg has salmonella, that ins't too good for you. A little just to try can't hurt but dont have too much.

I'm a nurse. No but too much might give you a belly ache. Try not to eat too much of it. I'm a vegan but if you use eggs, then you are eating them raw. I hope this answers your question.

No, it is the raw eggs in the batter that COULD be bad for you.
If those eggs have Salmonella, you will be mighty sorry. If they don't, you will be fine.
It is a gamble . . . . but very tempting!!!! I agree.

Technically yes but the chances of you getting salmonella from eggs you buy in the store is very slim and even if you do get it, it is not a very serious disease like e-coli or anything. you will have stomach cramps and diarrhea
