A vegan is a person who does not eat any dairy, eggs, meat, and gelatin (they are made from animal skin and hooves).

A true vegan also does not wear leather, suede, fur, wool, silk, and any other animal products.

Some don't eat honey or Red 40 because they come from insects, which they consider animals.

Some even buys special kinds of vegan sugar, becuase some sugar is processed through bone char.

Hope that helps.

Vegans dont eat any animal proteins and animal by-products. This is the most extreme form of vegetarian diet, as vegans get all of their nutrition from grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds. And vegans must avoid a large number of commercially produced foods that contain animal proteins – most breads are made with eggs, for example, and many non-dairy products are thickened with casein, a protein extracted from milk. Even vegetarian "burgers" often contain eggs! Despite the challenges, the vegan diet has steadily grown in popularity in recent years as more and more vegetarians have become savvy label-readers and vegan-friendly food companies have created more products for them to enjoy.

A vegan is a person who does not eat any kind of animal product at all, including dairy and eggs. Some vegans will not use animal products like leather, either.

The logo of the world's first Vegan Society, registered in 1944Veganism (also known as strict vegetarianism or pure vegetarianism) is a philosophy and lifestyle that avoids using animals and animal products for food, clothing and other purposes. In practice, a vegan (an adherent of veganism) commits to the abstention from consumption or use of animal products, including meat, fish, and poultry, animal gelatin, honey, eggs and dairy products, as well as articles made of silk, fur, wool, bone, leather, feathers, pearls, nacre, coral, sponges and other materials of animal origin. Vegans also avoid products that have been tested on animals. People become vegans for a variety of reasons, including ethical concerns for animal rights or the environment, as well as more personal reasons such as perceived health benefits and spiritual or religious concerns
