First, I'd suggest seeing a doctor. Blood tests will reveal whether you're anemic or experiencing other problems. A rapid heart beat can be symptomatic of a few different problems.
Second, increasing your fluids intake should help with the coldness. Make sure you're getting enough water.
Third, to increase your protein without adding meat to your diet, increase your intake of tofu as well as rice and bean combinations.

I am not a vegetarian, but I know that most vegetarian diets are short in both iron and especially B12 and require vitamin supplementation (my sister was a vegetarian for many years).
Visit a nutritionally aware doctor or preferably a naturopath to have this assessed and get some answers. Anemia is serious if left untreated, so you need to see a health care professional. Your symptoms could be a sign of numerous other things too, so don't self diagnose and find out what is really going on so it can be fixed. Good luck.

Could be anemia. I am not a vegetarian but I am anemic and you should go get your blood tested by a doctor. I used to be severley anemic and had to sleep and take naps often and I always felt terrible. It took me 4 months to get my iron to a normal amount, but you will feel so much better.

If you're anemic eat something with iron in it. Iron fortified cereals, beets or red cabbage will work. If you're going to be a vegetarian, you need to learn about what foods to eat. The easiest way to get the nutrients your body needs is to eat both meat and plants. You need to find things to substitute for the absence of meat.

Go to your doctor now. Get your blood tested. Vegetarianism isn't to blame. You might just be a "bad" vegetarian and not get all the nutrients you need. And when you get back, eat foods with lots of Vitamin B12 and Iron.

Take multivitamin supplement daily with orange juice (helps absorb iron). Go see a doctor for heart and breathing problems - could be something more serious.

It is real easy to be sure if you are anemic. Get a blood test.
I recommend a daily multivitamin with iron. And talk to your doctor about your racing heart. That is worrysome.

To remain vegetarian... you can take a multivitamin. Or, this may sound weird but it's true... you can cook with iron pots and pans and that will impart some of the necessary iron directly to your food!
