Five weeks ago I had a slight flu virus,
This has now left me with a cough and intermitant breathlesnes which I am finding quite hard to get rid of,
I have been to see my GP who have put me on a course of Antibiotics and have not taken the full course of medication, I then went to visit my Out Of Hours doctors who prescribed me a Inhaler which I have found isnt helping either.
Please can someone advise what the next best thing is to do
Many Thanks

Do you have sinus drainage down your throat? (Post nasal drainage). It can make you cough and actually choke. There are things you can do for that. Nasal sprays, sinus rinses, drinking lots of water to thin the mucus are some. If is is caused by the sinus drainage it can become chronic and last for weeks.

Well if the cough is accompanied by mucus you may want to try mucinex. it works wonders. I would recommend going back to the doctor after you complete your course of antibiotics you could be developing a serious respiratory infection.

My husband and I have been prescribed BENZONATATE 200mg. We find it fantastic. It takes care of that after cold cough in a 1-2-3. Maybe you can ask your doctor if it is appropriate for you.
Good luck, Liany

You should go and see a lung doctor and they can measure you with test and that will tell him what is wrong. If you seen the other doctors take their reports with you . It will save time even blood work. Good luck

You said you did not finish the full fcourse of antibiotics...not good.

What was the inhaler...if it was Ventolin, it should have helped.

If it was a maintenance drug...it may take a week of so to see the result.
