Hi Melonie,
I am in Canada so maybe different ingredients in the same brand than in the US, but I do know that here Campbell's cream of celery has chicken fat in it, but that the cream of broccolli is vegetarian friendly.
I buy the generic cream of celery as it is vegetarian friendly from the local store.
Animal fat can also be hidden under another name for example, tallow or lard. This website gives you a list of animal-derived ingredients to be aware of.
Hope that helps :-)

I'm pretty sure they are. At least, there's nothing hidden in them... so if the ingredient list doesn't list "beef stock" or some such thing, you're ok.

If you really want to be safe, Campbell's tomato soup is vegan. And my personal favorites are Progresso Hearty Tomato and Progresso Lentil soup, both of which are vegan as well.

Tabatchnick also has quite a few good vegan, vegetarian and kosher soups. They would be in the frozen food section of your local grocery chain. I'm particularly fond of the vegetarian chili (fake meat included) and the sweet cabbage soup.

There are a lot of soups that seem vegetarian, but don't be fooled. Read the labels on food cans and, if you're at restaurant and ordering soup, order a soup that you know is vegetarian. Take French onion soup, for example. It may seem vegetarian because of the croutons, onions, and cheese, but it's not. Regular French onion soup is make with chicken stock. This is something I had to learn the hard way.

Why don't you look on the labels?
I really think they are but now days there are many organic subsitutes for them. Look in your health food section of the stores.
