My grandmother was from Czechoslovakia and she use to make this dish called Halushki, you can make it a couple differnent ways. My favorite is this recipe: 5 or 6 potatoes, peeled
flour
1 OR 2 eggs
butter
cottage cheese
salt and pepper
grate the potatoes mix them with the eggs and flour till you get a pretty firm mix. Boil a big pot of water take a knife and make little dumplings about the size of a pecan. you put some of the mix on a plate and use the knife to form the dumplings. plop them in the boiling water till they sort of float to the top and take them out, when they are all cooked, mix em with butter and cottage cheese. This is all from memory. Maybe someone out there has a acutual recipe.

hmm easy that doesn't take a lot of time... crockpots are awesome:

2 pkgs beef chuck (aka stewing beef)
1 stalk celery
1 bag mini carrots
8 regular potatoes
1 onion
4 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
2 pkgs onion soup mix
4-5 cans of beef broth (or 2 large cans)
1 small jar of minced garlic (in veggie section of store)

Cut it all up (meat is already cut up) and put everything into the crock pot. Cook on high 5-7 hours.

It's delicious with french or italian bread to dip

Now it can be served like that OR thaw frozen bread dough cut off sections about an inch thick, let them raise and put the cooked product in the center of each piece of dough, pull the sides up over the top. let them raise a little then bake till done. pull them out of the oven and put a little butter on top of each one. they are soooooooo good
