Thrush can be contracted on any part of the body that is usually dark and moist. It's yeast, just like the stuff that makes bread rise. Yeast is a fungus, and it's very irritating to the human skin. female yeast infections can also be considered thrush, so before you stick that itchy willy anywhere, think again!!

Sometimes, thrush can just clear up on it's own, but DON'T SCRATCH! Sheesh. Scratching spreads the spores of the fungus and whammo! Now it's everywhere. Keep the area DRY and COOL and expose it to the air. OR, if you don't want to walk around town NAKED (!!!!!), get some gentle antifungal like GyneLotrimin or Monistat. Treat it with a thin layer of the cream for 7-10 days EVERY DAY (don't stop or the fungus may become immune to it), even if the infection appears to clear. if it persists, see a doctor. This condition is common and they'll understand. just keep you claws outta your crotch. NO SCRATCHING!!

I had recurrent thrush for 4 years and now I have chronic vaginal pain because of it. lol ******* indeed For Americans - British use the word thrush to mean a vaginal yeast infection. If it's thrush in your mouth we call it oral thrush By the way I treated it every time so I don't know what's it's like if it's left untreated. But I hear it will go away on it's own. It's ruined my life in case you were wondering.

You could develop a rash/scaling skin that itches and itches and can burn. You can also pass the thrush to your partner. If your partner is female, this can turn into a vaginal yeast infection for her. Seek medical attention!!!

Thrush doesn't cause serious long-term health problems. It will clear up without treatment, but this will prolong the discomfort.

It will be itchy and painful from all the scratching that comes along with it usually. Not to mention if you ever plan on having sex again you will probably spread it to your partner as well, if they even do anything with you to begin with. Go to a doctor!

It stays red ,blotchy and sore but I don't think it does permanent damage. It is infectious though and can spread to other moist tissue areas. But it should be medically treated.
