This is a headache as I'm from Malaysia..hmm..my constant cravings, home away from home..

1) Nasi Lemak - fragrant coconut rice with spicy anchovies, curry chickens, cucumber, boiled eggs, a side of spicy chili paste wrapped in a banana leaf.
2) Curry Laksa - coconut meat broth with meats, seafoods & wheat noodles.
3) Rendang Beef - Beef stew cooked with blended spices in a dry coconut sauce.
4) Hainan Chicken Rice - Roasted chicken with fragrant ginger, onion, chicken broth based flavored rice, serve with a bowl of chicken soup.
5) Satay - of all sorts !!!! Give me my peanut dips, please !
6) Harmee - Shrimp noodles, strongly infused with shrimp flavor, hours of cooking the shrimp shells to intensified the soup. Loves every stuffings that goes with that.
7) Char Kway Teow - Stir fry flat rice noodles with cockles, heaps of eggs, shrimps & green chives.
7) the list goes on !!

I see you have cravings for crabs & lobsters ! Big fan as well. Will cook up some egg crabs with spicy bean sauce this weekend..can't wait after typing in all these delicious, sinful eats...haha, got my stomach growling :P

Does it have to be with nasi? My favorite is a well-made bowl of mouth-watering laksa Penang. The strange thing about laksa is that its always either really good or just horrible.

PS: I'm not a Malaysian, so this is a foreign opinion...

Malaysian wedding dish: white curry - recipe

It's sweet and mild...with no chili

UNLIKE MOST CURRY dishes, this Malaysian chicken version contains no chilies. A blend of spices--including lemon grass, galangal (an astringent root similar to ginger), and star anise--gives it a sweet, mild pungency.

In Malaysia, this elegant white curry is normally served at weddings or festive dinners. You can serve it to family or guests with rice and crunchy sweet and sour cucumber pickles with chilies.

Look for curry ingredients in Asian markets, or use the supermarket alternatives.

White Chicken Curry

(Ayam Lemak Puteh)

Spice mixture (recipe follows)

1 can (13 1/2 oz.) coconut milk

2 tablespoons salad oil

12 chicken thighs (3 to 3 1/2 lb. total), skin removed

1 stalk fresh lemon grass, bruised, or 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
