Why is it that?

that yahoo lets meateaters come here and insult vegetarians and wont delete their insults but every time i insult the meateaters back yahoo violates me? it doesnt seem fair does it. the name of the category is food>vegetarian and not insult>vegetarain

Infurtiating isn't it? I guess it's cuz we're still a minority group, and whoever determines what gets violated or not is likely to identify more with them and not us... When they say stupid things, it's seen as a mainstream POV and therefore less offensive than if one of us dares to crawl out of our hole and tell them things they don't want to hear.

Anyway whatever you said, I'm sure you were right!

The correct way to handle the insulting meat eaters that come here is to abuse report them to death! They're the reason I left this section for a while. The sections I normally answer in (other than this one) just don't have these kind of problems with flame wars (but I do stay out of politics and religion sections).

ALL vegetarians in this area need to be abuse reporting every meat eating troll that comes here! It's the ONLY tool yahoo gives us to clean the section up.

There is a hunting section here and I lurk there frequently, not interested in hunting but I do shoot skeet, trap and silhouettes so I find the section interesting. I've NEVER seen a vegetarian flaming hunters in there! Some of the abrasive peta/alf types do get in there sometimes stirring up trouble but they have *nothing* to do with real vegetarians other than give us bad press (kinda like zionists vs. real jews or alqueda vs. real moslems(comparisons that will surely get me flamed)).

George, this is NOT the best answer!! Look to answers from David, Simcrazee, Rani, Kostar, Princess or Nurse Zelda for that please (of the response so far).

Why is it that vegetarians come to the hunting forum and always insult hunters? Their questions, and comments don't get deleted over there. It's only fair that you all come over there and insult us, and then we can turn around and do the exact same thing. It's called freedom of speech. I don't know why your insults are "violated", but maybe it's because you are using profanity.

I think some people come on this site looking for a fight. Why else would someone that eats meat be parusing the vegetarian section....or a veggie looking at the hunting section for that matter (there really is a hunting section? LOL)

It is simple: because we live in a carnivorously biased world. It reminds me how so many people make little snide comments about me being a vegetarian--even their endless concerns with me getting enough protein is offensive--but I don't tell them how disgusting meat is when they are stuffing it in their mouths.

I believe you repeated exactly what the question said. The point of this site is to discuss food. I don't believe George needs to be more tolerant. It is NOT ok to tolerate intolerance. That's not tolerance, that's cowardice.

the point of this site is not about insulting people. its about food. you said you're doing this as well as it being done to you. don't feed the fire. how about some tolerance for other peoples lifestyles and positively enlightening them instead of insulting them? peace.
