I want my bf to go get checked at a clinic just like how girls get pap smears/pelvic exams annually. Does anyone know what kind of procedure they do to check on guys'?

Yes, they can swab the urethra, but in most cases, this is UNECESSARY. Gonorrhea and chlamydia, the diseases they'd test for using a swab, can be tested for using a urine sample.
So it's pee in a cup, then offer a quick blood draw.
So remember folks, if your man ever balks at testing 'cause he's afraid of the swab, keep shopping for clinics till you find one that uses urine tests!

Yes they do do a Q-tip exam. It is uncomfortable, but not painful and very quick. They also do a visual inspection and draw a blood sample or two. Many infections (herpes, HIV, and others) can only be positively diagnosed by a blood test. Also, infections like HPV (warts) are generally diagnosed visually.
Essentially that's it, swab of the urethra, visual exam, and blood tests for a full screening.

Usually, it's checked by his girlfriend prior to engaging in activities that my be affected by this. Be sure to even ask him if he's too embarrassed to tell you. Both of you will be better of when you work together on this. If he's shy, try to baby him into talking so that you can perform the proper tests and check him out completely. He'll really appreciate it and thank you for it. Who knows, he may even be more outgoing and tell you other secrets and make your relationship that much more rewarding.

That would involve a long "Q-Tip" like swab that is inserted up the urethra. From what I've witnessed and been told, it's somewhat painful.

every answer on here is so far incorrect. you are swabbed with a tiny cotton bood like stick just inside your japs eye, the sample is then transferred to a slide to check it and a course of tablets is the end result. Not the school like umbrella fiction. they are winding you up
