Sounds like your the insecure one here,
You eat whatever you want, I eat whatever I want.
Meaties just object to the holier than thou attitude that a few veggies adopt. We all should know by now just how good / bad various foods can be for us. So please stop with the bleeding heart on sleeve nonsense please.

i agree.
Attack is normally the form of defence used when someone is in a weak position. So i guess all those meatie bullies know they are onto a loser if they try to have a sensible debate on the topic.
I also notice, sadly on a regular basis, that meateaters who post here refer to "them" and "you" when complaining about veggie opinions being forced down thier throats. None of them ever seem to quote specific examples like "last tuesday i was in walmart buying beef and this veggie said xyz to me". Personally, having been a veggie for 26 years and never seen any veggie have a go at anyone. Quite the opposite, I find vegetarians an vegans tend to be passive, quiet, caring people. I think most of the meaty complaining is just whining because they are insecure in thier argument

Inadequacy, I think. They probably realise they should have more of a social conscience so they get defensive about it. You also get those who genuinely don't care about killing animals or eating rotting flesh. For those people who eat meat who get defensive, you may not even realise that you are doing it, but most of you do try to justify meat eating. Most veggies don't even want to get into a debate, but in a group there will always be at least one person who feels compelled to tackle the veggie for their decision and won't let up, to the point of it becoming ridiculous and embarrassing, for the vegetarian, not because of their non-meat eating decision, but because of the unwanted and aggressive attention.

I find it strange too. I have been vegetarian forever and it just occurred to me that in all the time I have taken part in yahoo.answers I have NEVER gone into the section that is not vegetarian and lectured anyone on why they should give up meat. Yet the "meaties" are always here--- I cannot recall a single veg question that doesn't have at least one nasty comment from someone who supports eating meat-- almost always insulting and ridiculing.
Who has the problem here???

Yes , I know, look at all of that meat that we have left for them to eat!! I don't care if they eat soldiers buttons or leather jackets but they should keep their noses out of our lunchbags!! the should ' get on with their own knitting ' IMHO instead of whineing about us being superior (As if) and 'trying to convert them'. LOL
While I wish that more of the population were veggies or vegans ,only because they would understand us more and we'd have more choice in shops and restaurants. I am in no way going to shove 'cheatin' ham' or 'Fakin' bacon' up Omnivore's noses , I think that would be wrong!!!

I agree. Insecurity. Deep down they must know that what they are doing is wrong on many levels. They're just stubbornly holding onto ideologies that they believe to be true and justifiable, maybe never having even questioned them before. Kind of like "It's always been done, so it's okay".
Yes well rape and murder and war have always been done, too.
We've evolved far beyond eating animal's flesh and wearing their skins. God forbid you attempt to update your viewpoints.
I do NOT mean to generalize all omnivores. They are people just like everyone else and I have no animosity towards them as people.
I'm just saying that this has been MY experience with the omnivores that I have debated with. Which is not many, so please no one get offended.

Get the hell out of here! How dare you be so disrespectful. What you probably don't know is that some "meaties", as you lovingly call them, actually support a vegetarian's decision to not eat meat. You must be hanging out with the wrong crowd buddy. I'll say this again, it's people like YOU that give vegetarian's a bad rep. Calm your pants before you come on here and rant like this again.

Not understanding something causes fear. It's the same thing with religion...one group will always think that "their" religion is the only right way.
Oh..did I mention ignorance? Check out the answers you are getting...quite immature right? I mean take the guy that has to resort to using insults.

I don't have a problem with vegetarianism. I have a problem with vegetarians who lecture me about how rotten they think I am. I also have a problem with vegetarians who expect everyone to bend over backwards to fit their needs.
If I go to my inlaws, it's going to vegetarian. Fine. It's their house, I won't complain at all. But when they come over to mine, I've got to be vegetarian. Even that's not a big deal. But we've had some relatives who want to "liberate" the meat in our fridge. Eh, no - not cool.
Some of us also think that some (especially vegans) are setting themselves up for trouble later. I have known a few vegans and it's interesting to watch their health decline after a couple of years and they steadfastly deny veganism having anything to do with it. We care about these people and think they are doing themselves harm.

Some of you people, most actually, must not have noticed the "question" below intitled "veggies". I'm guessing that's what this is in reference to.
