Flour tortillas are from northern Mexico. Corn tortillas are used everywhere in Mexico. Or at least that's traditional. I think it's interesting that the other poster has an aunt in Zacatecas who makes flour tortillas; Zacatecas is kind of central.... But Zacatecas has a lot of people with ties to California, where flour tortillas are popular (especially those giant flour tortillas for burritos are a totally California thing, Texas traditionally only has normal-size flour tortillas as far as I know). I don't know whether the giant flour tortilla is a northern thing that's made its way back to central Mexico -- it'd be interesting to find out.

Both, everywhere...tacos soft and hard are corn...burritos are flour. Those stupid little 5" diameter flour ones are just wrong in any country.

it depends, my aunt still makes hers from scratch so they are mostly flour. she lives in zacatecas
my sister-in-law works in a "tortilla factory" and she brings home some of what she has made that day.....usually corn. she lives in durango.
if you live in one of the bigger cities... you can buy them from the factories or local stores. and you have the choice.
so I guess its depends on what kind of a mood your in.
