I cook French food often in my home. I think my favorite dish is chicken with tarragon. I also like to make steak au poivre.In general, I prefer red wines, but I also like dry whites like Pinot Grigio.
I love foie gras, but it is very expensive and hard to find in the USA.

Yes, Some French food is quite good, But the best is from the south of France where they cook more like the Italians and don't over-treat the ingredients. Keep in mind that most French food is copied from the Foods of the Italian Nobility in the Renaissance period. Prior to Roman influences the French were cooking food on sticks and quite barbaric by all accounts. It Kind of Makes an Italian wonder how and why the French can be such arrogant people to Americans.
But the food can be good!!! By the way French toast is strictly American, sorry Holla!

Yes, moi I do:) I'm in American living in France, (6 and a half years - dans le 78) and I'm used to the food now. I don't drink though...I never have, although I do drink Champagne from time to time during special occasions, but it's rare.
J'adore le foie gras... especially with figues, or mangue.
I DON'T like choucroute, although I love food from Alsace.

I love it. I cook many Provencal dishes, which use bouquet garni. I often make pot au feu in the winter, haricots verts in summer, Tarte Tatin.
As for wines, Champagne of course! And a nice Beaujolie

J'adore la cuisine Francaise.
J'aime la choucroute, J'adore les saucissons (sec et a l'ail)
Du bon Fromage, de l'exellent vin.
Mes plats favorits sont le choucroute garnie, confit de canard ou quiche lorraine
Je ne mange pas le foie gras comme je n'approuve pas ce qu'ils font avec les animaux
Je suis belge et bien fière et amoureux de notre propre cuisine mais faut dire que les Français connaissent quelque chose de la cuisine aussi
