If they hurt it probably is infectuos. If they don´t you should measure them and see their characteristics: if they are less than 1 cm, movable, of a consistency similar to rubber, you probably don´t need to worry. If they are bigger then probably you should get a fine needle aspiration, although it could also be a benign process. If you are concerned you should see a doctor.
