My girlfriend and I are getting pretty intimate. She is allergic to latex so I have to buy non-latex. By wearing non-latex condoms, will i have a greater chance of getting an STD as opposed to latex condoms?

No risk! You wore a condom which is 100% effective against the transmission of HIV. If the condom was to fail it would fail drastically where your penis was clearly exposed through the whole with it split straight down the middle or the condom would be off you completely and in the vagina of the girl. Condoms never fail to where you have question whether or not they failed. They are designed to fail where it's more then clearly visible by the human eye and they're made to actually be able to feel the fail while wearing the condom as you would feel and hear a pop. If you don't hear or feel the pop, you will clearly see the failure when you take your penis out of the girl. But anyway, you had no risk and you have no need to test from this encounter. Have a good day:)

As long as your condom doesn't have a defect, it will protect you from STDs even if it is non-latex.
There are also some advantages of non-latex condom choises:
Polyurethane is so strong that it can be much thinner than latex and still be just as reliable. Polyurethane also transmits body heat, unlike latex, which makes condom wearing more pleasurable. When used correctly, these space age condoms are an effective measure against pregnancy, AIDS and other STDs.

The best way to avoid the STD's, Chris, is to not be intimate until you get married and then remain monogamous.

Anything less is going to be a gamble. I know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but this is straight talk.

Good luck, and choose wisely!

Yes. I read somewhere that lambskin prophylactics are actually hygroscopic and can allow cells in. Be careful & try to know someone for a while before intimacy. That may help your chances in knowing their level of promiscuity prior to your relationship.

you should toss that disease ridden ***** out to the street. you dont get STDs when ur not doing everybody and anything. So basicly(let me sum this up) you will only get a STD if you or the whore goes out and does some nasty disease carrying slut, or from a toilet seat at walmart
