I'm 15 and I've been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for about a year, and I've been feeling kind of tired lately and I think it's because I'm not getting my correct amount of nutrients. I take a multivitamin from GNC whenever I remember, which isn't often, and I don't eat very much during the weekdays. I have been eating little to nothing during school lately because I've been skipping my lunch period in order to work in the library for Service Learning Hours, which I need to graduate. I'll be going to the doctor soon and, when I do, I'll tell him about this. Should I stick to my old multivitamin, which I don't think is a very good supplement, or should I take something else? If so, what should I take? What vitamins work well?

Well, if you're feeling a little tired lately is because you haven't been eating enough. To skip a meal is terrible for your health, and even if you take vitamins every day, you need to have at least three meals daily. The fact that you feel weak has nothing to di with vegetarianism. I'm a vegetarian college student, and sometimes I don't have enough time to have lunch, so I always carry with me cereal bars, and as soon as I can, I buy something to eat. You should carry a sandwhich with you so at least yo eat something. You should also wake up a little earlier and make yourself a good breakfast that can get you through the day.

Many vegetarians need to take a B12 vitamin suplement, but since you are a lacto ovo, you don't have to worry about getting B12 because you obtain it via the animal products you eat. Go to the doctor and a nutritionist, they can help you. Good luck!

well, my mom gets me a mulitvitiviamin that is full of the nutrients i need plust 75% of the daily recomened b12 (which is really important to take). i've just been a lacto-ovo vegetairan for 2-3 months so i'm not really sure what is causing your tiredness. i don't think you should skip lunch, ask the librerian if you can bring something small in with you like, a protien bar. somthing to feed your insides. once you do get to your doctor DO bring this up and i'm sure he/she can help you out a lot.

luck!
