if you get chlamydia how long does it take befor it is detected by doctors?

To be sure if you have Chlamydia, doctors usually do a smear. They'll send it to the lab and after 2 weeks you can get your results.

Chlamydia is known as a "silent" disease because about three quarters of infected women and about half of infected men have no symptoms.
So be sure to get tested regulary if you have more than one partner...

Three species of Chlamydia cause human disease, including sexually transmitted diseases and pneumonias. Most are susceptible to azithromycin, doxycycline, and some fluoroquinolones. Diagnosis is usually presumptive because testing is difficult. Routine testing for genital infection has been recommended and is increasingly common.
Chlamydial genital infection is so common in women that all sexually active women ≤ 25 yr are urged to undergo testing once or twice/year. Testing should also be a routine part of prenatal care.

they should be able to test right away. especially if you think you have it . if you go to the health clinic or planned parenthood tell them you want tested for all STD, it takes 2 weeks for the chlamydia test to come back.
