Smokers I reckon. Cigarettes cost a LOT of money.(plus the cost of cig. lighters, ashtrays, and accessories)

And then there are the doctor bills that smokers might have, because smoking can cause emphysema, bronchitis, high blood pressure, etc.

It's cheaper nowdays just to stop smoking cause cigs are like 4 or 5 dollars a pack. WOW

This is a no brainer.....the smoker. I am a respiratory therapist and I would say that 85% of my adult patients who have lung problems are smokers or those that are regularly exposed to second hand smoke.

i must agree with donna. not every smoker dies a lond drawnout expensive death , just like a non smoker lives a sick-free life dying with violins playing. carelessness will shorten one's life regardless of what it is. car wrecks kill way more young ppl than cigs.and as for second hand smoke, it s all conjecture, i havent seen any rep. findings. if you call sticking a rat in a smoke filled aquarium for a wk to see if he dies or not is not science

Kind of a dumb question, but I say the smoker.
Kind of like asking who will live longer the one who eats
at McDonald's everyday or the one who eats only fruits
and vegies at home .....

Non-smokers. They tend to live longer and therefore cost more to maintain.

24% of the folks with COPD never smoked

My guess the correct answer is smokers, thats why they charge more for health/life insurance
