Considering African governments have negotiated for cheaper drugs, can we still blame drug companies, or is it the fault of poor African medical facilities?

No, unless their adverts brainwash people to be promiscuous.
I wouldn't blame the medical facilities either, unless they are so dirty that they have used syringes.
Well, some drugs can get you aids as well, if you use dirty needles, but I thought that was a bigger problem in Cuba.

In Africa I thought aids was transmitted sexually more than anything else.

Don't sleep around, don't shoot up, clean all medical equipment properly.

And for those who blame the pope, does he say to be promiscuous? I'm no Catholic, but I do believe if you did what he said you wouldn't get AIDS. If everyone used condoms all the time, the human race would die out.

African Governments negotiating skills?
Poor african facilities???
In a country where this is a monumental problem, when are they going to start getting smart and quit playing with fire?.....Dont tell me that today, 7th Jan 2007...these people still dont know how to avoid this HIV/Aids virus?........The world has been working to educate and provide medical information and care...when are they going to take responsabilty and help themselves.
There will never be enough drugs...enough funding...enough resources, because they will NEVER quit breeding long enough.

Try putting the blame on the Africans themselves!!

why would it be the drug company's fault? The reasons aids is so widespread in Africa could be blamed on the catholic churches stance on condoms and lack of education ie ignorance about the disease&how its spread...no drug can stop aids... only ppl..

No because they shag anything that moves hence almost every African black having AIDS. Our gardener while in Africa said that in his culture "every erection has to be satisfied" - says it all doesn't it. Why should drug companies get the blame?

drug companies are the richest of all biz (even the legal ones) but everyone involved are to blame, need to reduce population of the poor, just keep those who pay lots of tax, etc,etc.etc.

Some people say that aids was government made

How in the world you came up with that is beyond me!!!

The drug company`s are, in no way, at fault.

It is the people themselves, that are having unprotected sex.. They made the choice to have sex. Drug companies have nothing to do with that..

Get a grip...

It's better to think of HIV, rather than AIDS. HIV is the virus that transmits through unprotected sex, so education and a condom are the items that we should concentrate on.
As the old adage goes - prevention rather than cure.
