I agree with ya. I think it's a nasty choice of food.

Why not? Octopus, squid (calamari) are common seafood items in Asian and Mediterranean cuisine and they taste great especially the babies - more tender springy than chewy. It is not disgusting at all when you've acquired a taste for them.

I lived in the Seychelles once and they make delicious octopus curry there. It also goes well in the Spanish national dish paella, in seafood chowders and coated in batter as tempura. Nope, it doesn't taste nasty or disgusting at all.

Well, it is a little rubbery (a polite term is chewy). I've only eaten the canned kind from Spain (with garlic and olive oil) and it was o.k. It's just a different kind of seafood to try. Squid tastes better imho.

Depends on how you cook it. My dad used to catch it fresh and then put it on the hibachi. Here it is popular as Tako(Japanese for octpus) Poke (pronounced po-kay) which is cut up octopus mixed with green onions, ogo seaweed, and seasonings.
Aloha!

Why people eat cow? Look at what comes out the 'other' end!
Why people eat carrot? It's dug up out of the mud!
Why people eat egg? It fell out of a chicken's butt!

Octopus tastes all right actually - although it's a bit chewy, so I wouldn't want to eat it too frequently..!
