Im 13 and I dont have any heart problems in my family tree but for some reason my heart beats hard even when I haveint done anything. I cant feel it but I can fell it when I touch my chest. It doesnt skip or give extra beats but its just making me nervous.
P.S it doesnt hurt either. And there is no other symptoms while it happens, not short of breath or anything like that. Could this also have anything to do with puberty or being over weight?

Okay, sweetie, I'm sure everything is fine. First of all, you should make sure to tell your mom or dad about any symptoms you are having that are unusual. Secondly, based on your age, you have a lot going on in your body and it's not unusual for hormones to do crazy things with your heartrate. Hormones can also cause you a little anxiety, which may be what is happening.

The best thing to do is talk to your mom or dad about it. It may be a good idea to make an appointment with your doctor just to run it by them. But if you are not having any pain, shortness of breath or feeling faint, then it's not any kind of emergency. Just make the appointment when you can. Good luck and try not to worry. You have youth on your side. :)

lots of things can make your heart beat fast or hard: adrenaline (look it up), fear, anxiety, polluted air, exercise, stress, and yes, malfunctions of the heart, blood, nervous or lymph system.

Being overweight can put a stress on your heart, but it's very subtle, adn more on blood pressure than the heart beat. If you are an athlete, your heart is more efficient than most non-athletes, so you will feel it beating harder (and slower, actually, than most)

If you're worried, ask the school nurse, or a doctor about it. Odds are, you're fine.

I'm with everyone else on this. Just because you don't have a family history of heart disease doesn't mean that something else could be wrong with you and it may not be your heart. Just something else abnormal and that's your body's way of saying,"Hey!!Get me checked out!!" Tell your parents and get a thorough physical....just in case.
