I heard Sailin solution works as a nasal wash, but does that really work? I don't know if that's something I'd be (or anyone else for that matter) interested.

Normal saline is pretty effective to loosen secretions. Basic chemistry is like-dissolves-like. Since the composition of body fluids is .9% salt, normal saline is a great diluent (which also makes it good against blood stains).

Best way to use it is dribble it in your nostril with your head turned back, allow the saline to work it's solvent job, then blow it out... but don't blow too hard... you may get saline backed into your sinuses (not a whole lot of fun, plus you'll feel a lot of pressure).

Good luck.
