Will They Tell My Parents?

I want to get tested for STDs because im afraid that my boyfriend got then from his ex. If I got to the STD clinic, will they call my parents?

No. With clinics such as Planned Parenthood, they get your personal information but do not contact your parents. You are simply given a number.

If you have concerns though, call and speak with your local Planned Parenthood. You can listen to people on Yahoo! questions all day and not feel as confident as you'll feel when you talk to the people who work there.

It's good that you are being responsible and getting tested though. Be sure your boyfriend does as well.

NOPE! there's a law called "Patient Confidentiality" no matter what age. The clinic will not tell your parents unless you ask them to. Make sure you give them a heads up about it & give them a private phone number & a private address just in case. Or you can say, do not call & that you will just call them yourself for the results privately. Anything can be discussed privately with your doctor. They know this law. They won't dare break it because of HIPAA. ask them about that law, they know it. They can be sued by you big time if they break it.

This is an area where minor's are given confidentiality privelege that includes parents. Go or call and ask before you give your personal information, just for the extra peace of mind.

Planned Parenthood clinics are confidential, for sure. I don't know about any others.

I would say no . If you are a minor ask the doctors office first , but I would think they would respect your privacy , either way if you do have an STI it must be treated ASAP.
