Yuck... it really depends where the syphilis is. If it is on their hands or face, I definitely wouldn't want them in MY kitchen!

That being said, syphilis is completely curable by basic antibiotics, if I owned a restaurant and knew my employee had syphilis I would make him or her go to a doctor and get a cure before it got to their brain!

I have trouble imagining how the question would come up. For somebody to have the diagnosis, he would have seen a health-care provider who would treat, and the treatment is quick, simple and effective. In the few days it might take to have treatment, the risk of transmission would be almost nil.

Its is very safe for them to work there
Syphilis is not air born like the Flu
and other diseases.

Whether it is or not, just the idea is awful.
Let's just say "no," since it takes time to cure and since we all like our food prepared by someone clean.

There is other work available ...
